Some people say cooking rice is an art! I say it is scientifically mathematical! What every it is you call it, I can help you get perfect long-grain white rice, every single time!
& yes, the grain of rice makes a difference, so this is only for those of you cooking long-grain white rice! Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. The first thing you should do, is set up everything you are going to need. Once the rice starts cooking, it becomes very fast-paced! So what you need to make sure you have handy is your lid, your water, your salt & your mixing spoon!
2. Turn your stove top heat on high! Add enough oil to the pot to cover the bottom & allow about 30 seconds to heat up. Now, stir in your rice. The point here is to get every grain of rice covered with some oil. Now add in the salt & continue to stir! The rice should become translucent (almost able to see through), before you continue! This takes about 2 to 3 minutes!
3. Now, stir in the water! Allow the water to boil rapidly without any stirring! Once the level of the water boils down to the level of the rice, you are going to reduce the heat, give the rice a good stir & cover the rice! Now, walk away from the rice for 15 minutes! Do NOT open the lid before 15 minutes & do NOT stir the rice either!
4. After they 15 minutes is up, return to the pot! Just turn off the heat! Do NOT remove the lid yet! Leave the rice alone, for another 5 minutes more! When this 5 minutes has blown by, you may now lift the lid, stir the rice & serve! Your rice will be perfect!
