Cook On Himalayan Salt Crystals

Heat a block of Himalayan salt crystals to season foods while they cook on its surface. Himalayan salt crystals contain many different natural minerals that give foods cooked on them a complex savory flavor. The technique works best with foods that will cook quickly. Give your guests an artistic presentation with a lasting impression by inviting them to cook their own food right at the table on Himalayan salt. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions


1. Slide the Himalayan salt crystal block or plate into the center of a 500-degree preheated oven or broiler.


2. Remove the salt block or plate from the hot oven after 30 minutes using oven mitts to protect your hands.


3. Place the block of Himalayan salt crystal on a trivet at the table and warn your guests about its heat.


4. Use wooden chopsticks to move pieces of thinly sliced raw meat and vegetables onto the surface of the block or plate.


5. Flip the food over and gently place it in a new position on the surface of the salt crystal after 30 seconds to a minute of cooking.


6. Remove foods from the surface when they are cooked to your liking and eat them immediately.
