Make Hard Blueberry Candy

Hard candy can be made at home with basic ingredients including sugar, corn, syrup and water. To make blueberry-flavored candy, blueberry flavoring must be purchased from a confectionery or specialty grocery store.

In the hard candy recipe that follows, the blueberry flavoring can be substituted for other flavorings including strawberry, cherry or orange.

The blueberry candy mixture can be poured into candy molds for cute designs that kids and adults enjoy as a dessert or snack. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Combine sugar, water and corn syrup in saucepan.

2. Stir and heat over medium heat. Stir until sugar has dissolved.

3. Bring mixture to a boil. Put candy thermometer in mixture.

4. Remove saucepan from heat when mixture reaches 300-degrees Fahrenheit.

5. Stir in blueberry flavoring. Let stand for 30 seconds.

6. Pour candy mixture onto parchment-lined cookie sheet.

7. Cool for 1 hour at room temperature. Break pieces of candy with knife.
