Bake Banana Chips

Make healthy, crunchy banana chips in your oven.

Commercial dried banana chips sometimes contain added sweeteners and oils, while your homemade version only has the ingredients you add. With no added sweeteners, it's a healthy treat with a sweet taste from the natural sugars in the banana. This treat is one both adults and kids can enjoy. The preparation work is quick and you can walk away while the banana chips bake. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Spray a cookie sheet evenly with a non-stick spray.

3. Cut the bananas into thin slices, about a 1/4 inch in thickness, with a clean, sharp knife.

4. Layer the banana slices on the cookie sheet so they don't overlap.

5. Place the pan into the preheated oven and leave the door slightly ajar. Place a fan in front of the oven so the air is directed inside. Turn the fan onto its lowest setting while the bananas are baking to increase air flow and prevent condensation.

6. Cook the bananas for 2 hours. Turn over the slices with a spatula or a fork. Cook for an additional 2 hours. Remove from the oven when the bananas feel dry and crispy.
