Start A Candy Making Business

Most people find making candy a fun hobby they do every once in a while for a social gathering or gift. But you can make it a business as well. Here's start a candy making business.


Instructions


1. Purchase all your candy making supplies. These include the molds or trays for shaping candy, the chocolate, lollipop sticks, wrap bags, twist ties for lollipops, squeeze bottles, and so forth.


2. Create a name for your company and go through the legal aspects of obtaining a business license, setting up a bank account and so forth, as needed. Next you should get some business cards made. Go and talk to your local chamber of commerce about upcoming networking events where you can mingle and pass out your cards.


3. Start making sample candies out of different molds, candy colors and varieties. Take photos of each sample. Get these photos developed or download the digitals. Print these out and put them in a folder or photo album of some sort. This will be your look book for potential clients to browse through.


4. Create a website where clients can order products from. This will allow them to see your work, be able to email questions and submit orders. Start attending networking events and getting to know people in your community. Advertise in local magazines, the Pennysaver or send out promotional fliers and postcards. Make your presence known.


5. Start making your candy, continue to market and develop new candies to create a buzz about your business. You can do it! Good luck! Go make the world a sweeter place.
