Meet People In Indianapolis

Indianapolis is known as a friendly city. Located in America's Heartland, Indianapolis has more to offer than the famous races. Singles and couples have many resources available to help them meet new people and make friends in this great Midwestern city.

1. Join a fitness club, YMCA or an amateur sport. Indianapolis is a fit city with dozens of athletic clubs of all varieties. The summer is the best time for participating in outdoor sports. Contact the Indianapolis Parks Department and find out about the leagues for softball and other sports. They also organize group events like clean the parks and bird watching.


2. Find a club. Indianapolis has many clubs, including Kiwanis, Indianapolis Ambassadors, Arts Chorale and many volunteer organizations. Contact the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce.


3. Head out into Indianapolis' night light. Check out the bar and disco scene. Try the clubs on the following streets for some late night carousing: Meridian Street, Jackson Street, Georgia Street and Massachusetts Avenue. For a touch of old Indianapolis' style, visit the Old Point Tavern which is the city's second oldest bar.


4. Attend services at one of Indianapolis' churches, synagogues or temples. People of all faiths live in Indianapolis and their congregations are waiting to welcome you to the city.


5. Meet people in Indianapolis by attending one of the dozens of festivals held each year. A good place to start is to check out the newspaper a month ahead of the annual Indianapolis 500 car race. Newspapers list all the special events which create an ideal situation for getting acquainted.
