Use leftover chicken broth to make a tasty soup.
If you make more chicken stock or open more cans of broth than you need at the moment, save some for later. Depending on when you'll need the broth, you can store it in a refrigerator for a few days or in a freezer for months. Having leftover chicken broth on hand is convenient for last-minute meals or for when you're feeling under the weather. When you reheat the broth, add vegetables and rice or pasta to create a satisfying lunch or dinner. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Allow hot broth to cool down before storing it. Pour the chicken broth out of the opened can or stock pot and into a plastic storage container featuring an airtight lid with a handy pour spout. Allow a 1/2-inch space at the top for expansion.
2. Wipe any broth from the container's rim using a clean cloth or a paper towel. Press the lid firmly onto the container to create a tight seal.
3. Write the broth's storage date on a piece of freezer tape and attach it to the container.
4. Store the chicken broth in a refrigerator set at 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below up to 4 or 5 days.
5. Freeze the chicken broth in a freezer set at 0 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 to 6 months for the best taste.
