Instructions

Honey Liquid Soap

1. Grate a 4 oz. bar of Castile soap. Use a cheese grater or food processor to grate the soap, then pour the grated soap into a blender.

2. Fill a saucepan with 1 cup water. Place the pan on the stove, and bring the water to a boil. Pour the boiling water into the blender.

3. Set the blender to the "Whip" setting. Blend the water and soap for about two minutes.

4. Pour the blended soap and water into a medium-sized bowl. Add 1 tbsp. honey and 1 tsp. glycerin. Stir well to thoroughly combine the ingredients.

5. Let the mixture sit for 20 minutes to cool. Pour the cooled mixture into the blender and whip it again for about five minutes, or until a fine paste forms.

6. Add 5 cups cool water to the mixture. Stir well to combine.

7. Add three or four drops each of soap coloring and/or soap fragrance. You can purchase both of these at most craft stores. You can also use your favorite essential oil to add fragrance to the soap.

8. Put the entire mixture into the blender and whip it up again for two to three minutes. Pour the soap into a storage container and let it cool for several hours.

9. Fill an empty soap dispenser with the mixture. Shake up the dispenser well before use. Store unused soap in an airtight container in a cool, dry location.

Almond-Vanilla Bar Soap

10. Place 1/3 cup whole almonds into a coffee grinder or food processor. Grind the almonds into a fine powder and pour it into a small bowl.

11. Shred 4 oz. Castile soap. Use a cheese grater or food processor to shred the Castile soap.

12. Pour ¼ cup distilled water into a saucepan. Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil. Turn the heat down after the water boils and let it simmer for about five minutes.

13. Remove the saucepan from the stove. Pour in the almond powder, 1/8 tsp. vanilla fragrant oil, 1 tbsp. almond oil and the shredded soap into the pan. Stir the ingredients to thoroughly blend the ingredients.

14. Spoon the mixture into a soap mold. You can buy a variety of shapes of soap molds at most craft stores.

15. Let the mixture sit in the mold for about five hours, or until the soap has hardened. Flip the soap mold over to remove the homemade bar soap.
