Make Peanut Butter In A Cusinart

Spread homemade peanut butter on bread as a filling snack.

Making your own peanut butter in a Cuisinart food processor can be less expensive than buying it premade from a grocery store. Homemade peanut butter can also be healthier than its store-bought counterpart as you can control the type and amount of oil, as well as the salt content, that goes into it. Making creamy peanut butter will only take minutes, and you can spread it on your family's sandwiches, toast, celery sticks and apple slices as hearty meals and snacks. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Pour 15 oz. of shelled roasted and salted, roasted and unsalted or honey-roasted peanuts, depending on your taste preferences, to a Cuisinart food processor bowl.

2. Place the lid on the food processor. Turn the food processor on and blend the peanuts for one minute, or until they form a thick paste. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spoon if the paste has built up on the sides of it.

3. Slowly pour 1 1/2 tbsp. of peanut oil through the opening in the top of the food processor's lid while blending the ingredients. Continue processing the peanut butter for two to three minutes, or until it is smooth, creamy and spreadable.

4. Transfer the homemade peanut butter to a small plastic food container featuring an airtight lid. Store the peanut butter in your refrigerator.
