What Is An Angel Food Organization

Angel Food Ministries provides bread and other food for families and individuals.

The Angel Food Ministries is an organization that helps thousands of people throughout the United States. This organization does not discriminate on race, religion or color and helps families cover the basic necessities in life.

History

Pastors Joe and Linda Wingo are the founders of Angel Food Ministries. Beginning in 1994, the Wingos assisted in feeding families in Monroe, Georgia, after a local plant closed down. More churches and other families got involved over the years in contributing to Angel Food Ministries. The organization now helps people in over 35 states across the southeast.

Purpose

As a non-profit organization, Angel Food provides much needed food and financial support to less fortunate communities. Fresh and frozen foods are packaged together in units to provide sustenance to families. The units vary in price and are purchased by churches or other charities. The units are donated to specific needy families. Each unit of food will feed a family of four for about a week or an individual for about one month.

Considerations

There are no qualifications needed for a church or charity to be a part of Angel Food Ministries. An application fee is involved to cover training materials. Food comes from high quality, restaurant-grade vendors to provide families with healthy and nutritious meals. Food comes directly from the vendor, fresh or frozen. There are no limits on the number of units an organization may order.
