Good Things To Carry When Going On A Ski Trip

Pack your ski equipment or rent from your ski resort.

Make your ski trip a fun and relaxing experience by packing everything you will need for your getaway. From ski equipment to off-the-slopes entertainment, create a checklist to ensure you don't leave important items behind. If you are unsure of what you will need for your ski trip, contact the ski resort: Many offer packing checklists for guests.

Ski Equipment and Clothing

Ski equipment should be first on your list when packing for your ski trip, unless you are renting equipment at your ski resort. Remember to pack your skis and poles. If you are skiing with children, pack helmets as well. Insulated pants, thermal underwear, a neck garter and waterproof boots are necessities, as are thick socks, gloves and a hat, suggests the Family Fun website. Pack a parka or ski jacket, as well as sunglasses or goggles.

Identification and Other Necessities

Pack a small backpack or tote bag for carrying around items you will need while on your trip. Include your driver's license, medical identification card, any prescription medications you might need and a camera. Always keep your wallet with you, and carry cash in addition to credit cards to pay for parking meters or snacks from vending machines. Include any required tickets or registration materials as well.

Toiletries

Remember to pack shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotions and make up for your ski trip. In addition, take lip balm and sunscreen to protect yourself from the harsh winter sun. Aloe is also good for treating sun burns. Keep a small first aid kit in your backpack for dealing with minor emergencies: Include bandages, antibacterial ointment, over-the-counter pain relievers and alcohol patches. Hand sanitizer, cleansing wipes and lotion will also be useful.

Clothes and Entertainment

In addition to clothes for skiing, pack a few sets of clothes for enjoying other activities. Include pajamas, shoes, socks and hosiery. Pack a jacket for wearing off the slopes, and a rain jacket and umbrella for rainy days.

While skiing will undoubtedly be the main attraction of your getaway, you should also pack a few entertainment items to keep you busy while you are relaxing by the fire. Pack books, gaming systems and games. Board games and movies will keep your children entertained during your rest periods.
