Wind turbines provide clean energy for homes and businesses.
The concept of going green means to change your lifestyle or way of doing business in such a way that it makes the least amount of impact on the environment. As green living continues to take hold, people are changing nearly every aspect of their lives to become more environmentally friendly.
Green Living
Green living involves nearly every aspect of our lives, including what we eat, what we wear, how we shop, travel, work, do business, power our homes and even play. Conservation is also an important aspect of going green. Individuals do their part by refusing to buy products with excessive packaging and using reusable shopping bags.
Environmental Benefits
Living a green lifestyle lessens your impact on the environment. As the different aspects of green living and business become the norm rather than the exception, the result will be a healthier environment, less pollution and a return to sustainability.
Economics
The green movement is tied up in political controversy with special interest groups on each side of the argument. When asked if going green would help or hurt the United States economy, Terry Anderson, the John and Jean DeNault Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, said if going green means more environmental regulation it will hurt the economy and do little for the environment. On the other hand, he states that if it results in the environment being considered an asset, it will lead to more prosperity and business opportunities.
