Prepare Vitamin C Serum At Home

Using Vitamin C serum on your face protects it and reduces signs of aging.

Applying Vitamin C to your skin reverses aging and protects your skin from sunlight and other damaging pollutants and harsh chemicals. Vitamin C also stimulates the collagen within your skin, helping it appear healthier and more youthful. Instead of buying a store brand of Vitamin C serum, you can make it at home with three basic ingredients.

Instructions

1. Dissolve the ascorbic acid in 1 tbsp. of water. Vitamin C and ascorbic acid are virtually the same thing; the vitamin is one of the forms the acid can take. Use powdery ascorbic acid to ensure the texture of the serum turns out correctly. Mix the ascorbic acid in the water until it dissolves completely.

2. Add 1 tsp. of glycerin to the serum and mix until completely blended.

3. Place the serum in a colored, sealable jar and store in a cool, dry space like your refrigerator. This ensures that the serum does not oxidize and become less effective.
