If you need an airport in Burlington, Vermont, you have few choices but excellent options. The Burlington International Airport is conveniently located just off of Interstate 89 and is easily accessed by New England travelers. Found only minutes away from beautiful Lake Champlain, Burlington International Airport boasts recent renovations, convenient parking and connecting flights to popular destinations. As you wait for your flight you can check your email using the airport's free high-speed Internet, browse the gift shops or eat at a number of kiosks, snack bars or the One Flight Up restaurant. Parking is easy at Burlington, too, whether you choose to park and use the shuttle service or leave your car in the parking garage. To make your experience even better, a two-story addition is planned for the parking garage. Construction is expected to start in June 2010 and to be near completion by December 2010.

Franklin County State Airport

Though not located in Burlington, the Franklin County State Airport is only 29 miles up the road, 3 miles west of Highgate. This airport caters to charter and private planes, but offers these additional services: flight instruction, fuel (Avgas---used only in piston engine airplanes), U.S. Customs with advance notice, hanger space and more. The lounge, briefing room and restrooms accommodate all guests.

Edward F. Knapp State Airport
Private plane tied down
Only 34 miles out of Burlington, Franklin County State Airport is just 3 miles west of Barre. This airport is intended for private planes, but does provide services such as flight instruction, plane rental and fuel: Jet A, a kerosene-based fuel used in most turbine-engine jets, and Avgas, which is an aviation gasoline used only in piston engine airplanes. The amenities include an on-site restaurant, public telephone, restrooms and transportation. One of the runways is not plowed in the winter months, but the airport is open year-round.
